Hardwood Flooring:

March 17, 2009

It may not be obvious but some types of flooring are more eco-friendly that others.  The qualities that make hardwood flooring rise above others are: it comes from a renewable resource, it doesn’t take much energy to manufacture it, it cleans easily, it does not harbor allergens, it last for decades, and it adds thermal mass to your house.  Furthermore, I’ve never heard anyone rave about a carpeted floor, but wood floors get raves all the time.  We offer a wide selection of Hardwood Flooring.

    Hey Dan,

There are actually a lot of specific woods that are more eco-friendly than others including bamboo, cork and lyptus. Here in Colorado these types of flooring are becoming more and more popular.

I agree with you. We also carry cork flooring and plan to add bamboo and linoleum soon. Some of the hardwood that we have is reclaimed which makes it even more eco-friendly. Thanks for checking us out. Please see our new site located at
